The Index is made of up of 9 markets and 9 Commodities. These markets are Dawanau, Bodija, Makarfi, Gombe Main Market, Igbudu, Mutum Biyu, Mile 12, Ogbete and Relief. All these markets cut across the 6 Geo-political zones of the country. However, some of these markets are subject to change with demand and time.
The 9 common commodities offered on the Index are Rice Imported, Groundnut (Edible), Sorghum (Red), Garri (White), Palm Oil, Soya beans, Red beans(Olotu), Maize (White), Onion Violet. These commodities are weighed and the measures are calibrated on the platform. The Index indicates the available Bag measures in each market and also for each commodity which may differ from region to region.
The Index gives an actual and current insight of price trends in all regions of the country as the prices made available can be used for real comparison of prices.
Generally, Novus Agro provides price/market information on over 25 agricultural commodities from more than100 markets in 36 states, including FCT Nigeria.
